Kathleen A. Sheerin, M.D., received her bachelor's degree at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She earned her medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Sheerin completed her residency at Texas Children's Hospital/ Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where she also spent a year completing a fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology. She then completed a three-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Sheerin is board certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Sheerin is actively involved with both patient & family asthma education and is the founder of Breathe Georgia, a not-for -profit organization whose mission is to improve asthma care through education. Dr. Sheerin also handles media relations for the practice. She is the vice chair of the Public Education Committee of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Sheerin is married to Mark Moncino, M.D., who practices pediatrics. They have two sons, Harrison and Owen. In her spare time, she enjoys golf and walking with her two children.
